Christians, who think they “know” The Big Bang, could you read?

in Solar Lights

The BB says nothing about “Time Zero”; what happened at the beginning or what started it, it only deals with about 10^ -45 second, that’s 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 seconds. Most of you think it says how the Universe started, but it doesn’t. Another proof of it is Cosmic Background Radiation (CBR) shown by the WMAP satellite, which shows the Microwave spectrum of the Electromagnetic Spectrum(Which includes Light) as being symmetric(on large scales) within a fraction of a degree(Which is good; if it were completely symmetric, everything would be the same. we would not exist.) And it did not just spew out planets, stars and galaxies, it took about 8 billion years for our solar system to even form. I suggest you look up “The Big Bang” Wikipedia is Ok, but to get all of the answers, read a science book.

And please don’t come back with “Its only a theory”. A SCIENTIFIC THEORY is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning, especially one that has been tested and confirmed as a general principle helping to explain and predict natural phenomena.

Any scientific theory must be based on a careful and rational examination of the facts. A clear distinction needs to be made between facts (things which can be observed and/or measured) and theories (explanations which correlate and interpret the facts.) A fact is something that is supported by unmistakable evidence.

Facts may be interpreted in different ways by different individuals, but that doesn’t change the facts themselves.

Theories may be good, bad, or indifferent. They may be well established by the factual evidence, or they may lack credibility. Before a theory is given any credence in the scientific community, it must be subjected to “peer review.” This means that the proposed theory must be published in a legitimate scientific journal in order to provide the opportunity for other scientists to evaluate the relevant factual information and publish their conclusions.

I’m an atheist and I don’t believe in the Big Bang. I believe in String Theory.

1. So many Christians keep reminding atheists that it was a devout Catholic who came up with the theory in the first place and that scientists originally rejected the theory for being too religious. The Catholic church accepted the theory before the scientific community did.

2. Plenty of atheists have butchered the theory too. You just haven’t been paying attention. You also haven’t been paying attention to the Christians like myself who keep having to explain what the theory really is and how it actually doesn’t hurt the Bible at all.

edit: I”m confused as to how the Big Bang and String theory would be at odds. Did Stephen Hawking every say they conflicted? I’ve never heard that ever and it makes no sense that they would conflict.

Andrea: Very mature. Get some reading glasses please.

Nunchuks: Ahem. Right here!

Nunchuks again: So the Big Bang THEORY and the String THEORY are at odds with each other. Explain, number one, how they are at odds and two, how they can still be valid scientific theories if one is at odds with the other. I’m quite certain no logical answer is going to come out of this one.

…this should be quite entertaining if I ever get an answer.

…still waiting. I have Nat Geo waiting on line one to hear the news how an R&S atheist proved that the string theory and the Big Bang theory are at odds and obviously one is false.

…tried getting in contact with Stephen Hawking but his secretary laughed hysterically and hung up when I told her the news.

…it’s been almost a full day now. No answer yet. Maybe, just maybe, you will admit you are wrong. But I suppose I’ll wait for another day or so.

…two days now and Nunchuks still has no answer. Amazing.

Your wasting time “sigh”
Religious people don’t understand this and they won’t read it.
Each one will come up with some imaginary excuse…

@yeah “ahem” back to you
“I’M CONFUSED as to how the Big Bang and String theory would be at odds.”
Your confirming what I said

The Solar System

according to Evolution “The sun, the earth and the rest of the solar system formed from a nebular cloud of dust and gas 4.5 billion years ago.”

As usual, evolutionist are dogmatic about what happened, although they weren’t there. However, this nebular hypothesis has many problems. One authority summarized: ‘The clouds are too hot, too magnetic, and they rotate too rapidly.’ {7}

One major problem can be shown by accomplished skaters spinning on ice. As skaters pull their arms in, they spin faster. This effect is due to what physicists call the Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum. Angular momentum = mass x velocity x distance from the center of mass, and always stays constant in an isolated system. When the skaters pull their arms in, the distance from the center decreases, so they spin faster or else angular momentum would not stay constant. In the alleged formation of our sun from a nebula in space, the same effect would have occurred as the gases contracted into the center to form the sun. This would have caused the sun to spin very rapidly. Actually, our sun spins very slowly, while the planets move very rapidly around the sun. In fact, although the sun has over 99 percent of the mass of the solar system, it has only 2 percent of the angular momentum. This pattern is directly opposite to the pattern predicted for the nebular hypothesis. Evolutionists have tried to solve this problem, but a well-known solar system scientist, Dr. Stuart Ross Taylor, has said in a recent book, ‘The ultimate origin of the solar system’s angular momentum remains obscure.’ {8}

Another problem with the nebular hypothesis is the formation of the gaseous planets. According to this theory, as the gas pulled together into the planets, the young sun would have passed through what is called the T-Tauri phase. In this phase, the sun would have given off an intense solar wind, far more intense than at present. This solar wind would have driven excess gas and dust out of the still-forming solar system and thus there would no longer have been enough of the light gases left to form Jupiter and the other three giant gas planets. This would leave these four gas planets smaller than we find them today. {9}

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Jesus Christ is Lord.
