Is that why we were punished so severely for eating from the tree of knowledge?

Ancient kings, priest, and astronomers knew exactly where the sun was going to rise and set everyday, and they knew precisely where the stars were going to be at certain times in the season, for example, Matthew 2:7 “Then Herod, when he had privily [secretly] called the wise men [astronomers], enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.”
Ancients who “knew” about the universe could build a temple and say, “Look everyone, on exactly this day and time a light from the heavens will shine on this exact spot. And, low and behold, on that exact day and hour the sun shone on that very spot. And everyone who did not have knowledge of how the solar solstices and equinoxes work must have thought that it was a magic miracle.
Children respond to authority and can be convinced to believe anything. The bible tell us that we are all Gods Children.
All of this an some of you people still don’t see that God is figurative? We’ve all been duped.
Religion: “Hey, God is gonna strike you dead if you don’t obey him”
People: “Oh, yeah, what did God command me to do”
Religion: “God said…look right here in this Bible. God says not to eat fish on Friday, and have pork roast on Tuesday, have pork sandwiches for lunch the next day, but save your best cut of meat for Sunday.”
People: “I have never followed those commands, and I have not been struck down by the lord. So, I don’t believe in God”
Religion: “Oh, ya see, I forgot to tell you something. You don’t really die. It just seems like you do. You really live for an eternity after your physical life is over and if you don’t obey God then you burn in Hell forever and ever amen. However, if you do obey God then you go to paradise. The choice is yours”
People: “Jeez, why didn’t you just say so to begin with. How could I argue with that”

God Himself commands us to seek wisdom and knowledge. God is not unknown to anyone on this earth. He is denied by the ignorant., no matter how intelligent they may appear to be.
Who says “knowledge is known”? Haven’t you ever heard the wise saying about knowing what you know, knowing what you don’t know, but you don’t know what you don’t know. so you can say, knowledge of what you know is known and knowledge of what you don’t know is known, but knowledge of what you don’t know you don’t know is NOT known! The same things applies to God. There are things you think you know about God, and there are things you know you don’t know about God, but you do not know what it is you don’t know about God. Totally ignorant would be now knowing anything at all, one way or the other….
The bible says the opposite !!!

The Bible does not say that God is unknowable on the contrary Jesus encourages us to get to know him and his father accurately.
At the well Jesus claimed that the Samaritain worshipped what they didn’t know, but that the Jews worshipped who they knew.
