we have a non-airconditioned, 3 story, school of about 500 people and are looking into the idea of solar energy panels. approximately what would be the cost of just the installation of the system? Please respond before i fail my class

Call your local electrical contractor. This is a prevailing rate job and probably will be covered under a union contract. It depends on how much power you will need, the roof exposure, the roof slope, and the size of the batteries and the inverters you will need. Since the building is 3 stories tall, it would need conduit run to the inverter room and the battery bank needs a special room and special containment for the acid. It sounds like a 6 month project which includes the design and the installation of the project. You need to provide much more information before anyone can even guess at the answer. It also depends on the local labor rates.
