Solar Producer: Are The Yankees Finished This Season? (11/14/2011)

in Solar Producer

Now I know the Yankees have one of the best records in baseball and in the grand scheme of things have played very well this season. However, most of their wins came earlier. Lately, like the last month or so, the Yankees have been awful. If they go into the playoffs like this they’re done. Not only that but they still haven’t clinched with only 7 games left. They’re in danger now of actually missing the playoffs. Will they make the playoffs and is there even a point in them making the playoffs?
@ Madii: What playoffs? The magic number is 3 and we only have 7 games left to score those 3. We’re in serious danger of not making it that’s my concern more than anything else.
I think a big problem with this team is a lack of continuity. Every day is a new team. Girardi needs to pick 9 guys and stick with them. I’m tired of Kearns on odd days, Berkman on even days, and Thames when the sun is in the yellow house.

Its hard to count the yankees out ever they always seem to pull things out. But lately it just seems tampa bay is really hot. They have been battling all year. If they get in the playoffs anything can happen. Its tough for any team to go into new york in october. But the yankees are starting to get a lil old. Maybe the grnd of the season is wearing on some of the players. Personally I think tampa bay is better but I don’t get to see the AL games that much here in philly.

They have been awful this past two weeks… We lost to the Rangers, and the Rays. But i honestly think we will dominate in the playoffs. We will pull something off… I mean think about it. We have Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter… What could go wrong?

If I were a Yankee fan I wouldn’t be too worried yet about missing the playoffs. They’ve played about .500 ball since I think the beginning of August, but it’s still pretty improbable for them to be overtaken by the Red Sox. If the Sox win tomorrow then things would get a little tense. But if you guys win tomorrow and the magic number is down to 1, I’d say the playoff spot is all but locked up. While there’s always a chance the Red Sox don’t lose another game and the Yankees don’t win another game the rest of the season, it’s like 99.9999% not happening. So if you win tomorrow, I think you can breathe easy. But if the Sox win, and they do well against the White Sox while the Jays beat up on the Yankees… that season-ending series at Fenway could actually mean something.

Don’t worry.
Bud Selig and the other lesser Baseball Gods will make sure the Yankees make the playoffs.
Money makes the world go ’round.

Relax. The Yanks are fine. Don’t worry about how good other teams are playing. Come October, its a whole new season. The Yankees are bored and have nothing to play for right now. They are just sitting waiting for the playoffs. They aren’t gonna waste their energy when they have no need to. Believe it or not Girardi resting players is smart. When October comes and they’re all in and amped up, its gonna be a shit show. Momentum is reset come October 6. Bottom line, you see it year after year after year.

The Yankees are dominant. The Red Sox are missing two of their All Stars. The Rays have one of the lowest team batting averages and their little scrapping bases technique on infield singles isn’t gonna fly in the postseason.

If the Yanks win today, as long as the Sox lose 1 of their last 7 games, the Yanks won’t have to win again until playoffs! 3 is a very, very low number.
