So for class I have to come up with an argument paper and I chose this topic:
Can solar energy in Tucson replace Tucson Electric Power’s dependence on burning coal for energy?
So far I have my introduction:
Solar energy in Tucson, Arizona may be a good idea, but it won’t be cheap. With Tucson being known as the sunniest state many companies are looking forward to Tucson switching to solar power. Although solar energy promotes clean air and has an ultimate source of charge there are some advantages and disadvantages in investing solar energy.
But I don’t know where to start off the argument?
I was thinking probably this outline
As the body paragraphs I thought maybe I should mention
1. Its advantages
2. its incentives
3. and its disadvantages
and the conclusion I should promote a solution
What do you guys think?

i would also add why solar panels are a good idea besides location and clean air. I would put it up against coal because you have already said something about like. You also can add it is better than coal because… also if you have time get someone to look it over a see where you can add something or if you are weak with of your arguments. Because if you are look at the essay for hours you may miss something that could make the essay better to listen or read. because even if the reader is a teacher. they can get bored and it will be hard to make your case on solar panels. And check will this make since to the reader.
You would have to cover up a national park or two down there to get enough power to replace the coal and natural gas burners down there. Chances are they are already just burning natural gas so the coal issue becomes moot.
Your problems are many- the sun does not always shine, the panels are only about 16 percent efficient at present conversion rates and what about at night? On small scale of individual homes they can provide a significant amount of power needed, but you also need to suplement it.
But these are details of the real world, so for a class paper they can be ignored as they would get in the way.
I would make it a priority to come up with the best argument. Solar may not be cheap now. In years to come those who invest in a well organized project well reap rewards Beyond their Imagination.So Research what it will cost,what it return in profits, energy ! Will there be a benefit to reducing carbon in the atmosphere. Comparing this to coal is a no brainier because I live in a area where 7 coal powered generating plants exist Wis,Ill. Indiana. I have bad asthma. My lungs know When they are really burning coal.Plus into the atmosphere they are pumping acids,Mercury,sulfates. The coal train carries hundreds of tons of coal through our town at night . People are constantly woke up in the middle of the night. So what are the benefits,costs, to the present generation,those in coming decades. What Will happen to the environment ? Good ,bad ,indifference. Spain has TECHNOLOGY producing steam with solar ,generating electricity. In their country And In Arizona. They are reaping rewards already in the USA. You would do this Nation A huge favor prompting a solution. So I urge you to get it done and continue through life.
