Solar Panel: Help With A Science Fair Project? (12/6/2011)

in Solar Panel

okay my project is comparing wind and solar power to which one is more effecient/ powerful etc. does anyone have kits for a wind turbine and solar panel kit that a 7th grader can use. And will they be able to compare to the same thing such as a rechargleable battery. is there any other thing i can test with the solar and wind power.

Check out Edmund’s Scientific, they have great science kits for alternative energy.

The question of which is better depends on the amount of resources available at the site. If a site is sunny but not windy, solar is more efficient. If it is windy and not very sunny, wind is better. Many people install hybrid systems that have both solar and wind, because generally when there is a lot of one, there is not a lot of the other.
