Start by building your own solar cell from recycled materials, but don’t give up your day job. Experiment in your spare time and also take all the solar education courses that are available in your area. Solar energy will definitely be the power of the future as fossil fuels are exhausted.
I would leave the technical development up to that industries engineers.
As a supplier and maybe an installer, you could promote the idea of avoiding black outs or brown outs while still staying on the grid, maybe even supplying power back to the grid
NABCEP certification is a good start. Not that it gaurentees a job, or that you need it to get one, but all other things being equal, it gives you an advantage. The rounded knowledge that you need to pass the test lets people know that you have more than a passing interest in solar.
As of now solar energy is the best source of alternative energy but in reality it costs higher than the current ones. So if you can invent some latest technology to make solar panels which can produce more energy in low cost then it will be the best way for you to get into this industry.
