Uses sun to either heat water or create electricity on photo-volt cells. A roof is mainly required. i.e. if you live in flats you’re screwed.
Solar power saves energy being produced by fossil fuels and is less polluting.

A solar house is a house that ses the suns energy to power the house with little or no use for conventional power.

You can use solar for a hot water system that is on the roof or put on solar panals on the roof.

With this system you can set up you power meter (you would actualy buy a new digital meter) to monitor you power usage and if you use more power, you can get it off the grid and if you produce more power than you use, you can have a credit with the power company.

But their is a limit to the amount of power you can produce for the grid, in Australia it is about 5.5KWh. Anything else you would be considered as a power generator, which gives you a tonne of paperwork to complete to sell the power.

If your from Australia, go to the TAFE website (listed below) if outside try you local education provider.
But I have done this course and it is fun, you get to put up solar panels and play with wind turbines and learn how to create power.

Goodluck with the future and hope this helps.

Cheers

Jake
