I’m talking about prop.87 which is supposed to allow for alternative energy sources such as wind and solar power. Those opposed to the bill are mostly oil companies which would be required to pay a tax on the oil produced in California. { I don’t know if this type of legislation is present elsewhere} But why would we have to import oil in the first place. The same thing was done in Texas and Alaska and no oil was imported from outside sources. Is this just a big scare by the oil companies to keep people from voting for this
proposition simply because it would hurt there pockets? I think that the oil companies have a duty to help stop air polution. And if it takes a bill such as proposition 87 to bring this about, then I think the oil companies can certainly afford it without passing the cost down to the consumer……..

gee… only 20% of the oil consumed in the u.s. is foreign… sounds like reason enough to once again raise the cost of a barrel!
Every cost is passed down to the consumer.
