I doubt you’ll find anything free, but the technology is not as expensive as it used to be. Or if your a diy kind of person look around the net for designs etc.

There are heaps of them available. Search for items like a solar cooker which is made from cardboard and aluminium foil.
Also look for biodiesel sites to make your own fuel that works in older diesel engines and is made from used cooking oil.
You can make food dryers out of common materials to make dried fruits.
To be totally self sufficient you are talking about a RAPS system or Remote Area Power Supply. This includes solar panels, windmill type items and diesel fuel generators. When you look at the whole system you will start to understand your needs. You can also use 12 volt fridges, gas run fridges to reduce energy.
There are also items like a camp washing machine which is a small container that you spin to wash your clothes.
I havent given you any websites but by searching for some of the items I have listed you will find more information than you can handle.
