Something like a sankey diagram would do the trick. I have a presentation coming up..i neeeeed it. Basically for example a light bulb produces 10% of electricity but 90 percent of thermal. Therefore 90% of energy is essentially being wasted.

loss of heat, which is also a loss of the potential pressure that can be generated. for instance, look at a diagram of the Brayton cycle.
