You can buy solar panel kits from places like B&Q now. They are about £2000 for a modest size kit. Any excess power you generate may be sold back to the national grid.
The problem is that these panels can take around 20 years to recoup the cost on your bills, and the average lifespan of a solar panel is about…………. 20 years!
