ok well i was wondering if that i can hookup a small generator or maybe like a small solar panel and convet it into ac power can you just plug it into a wall outlet if its just not alot of power going back insted of going directly into the grid?

I do not think a solar panel will do much more than charge a cellphone unless it is a good one and big. Now, a generator, yes. You can run a dedicated line to a wall outlet or two. Be careful when running it that you do not plug in too many devices and overload the generators capacity.
