The reason I ask this question is because I currently have the low voltage lights that were installed when I purchased the house. At first they worked great but now I can’t get any of them to light up. I replaced the bulbs and have even replaced one of the transformers thinking that could be the problem with no luck. Thinking about pulling them all up and replace with the solar powered ones. They line up my driveway and around my shrubs.

If you can buy one or two to test, that would be best. If you get full sunlight they can work, but a test first would be a good idea.
i have had 3 sets of low voltage lights over the years. transformers alway went out, and i had to constantly change bulbs. finally pulled them all out. i wanted to try the solar ones, but all that i looked at did not provide anywhere near enough light. they just kind of glow, not light up an area. i am still looking though.
The solar lights are not as bright as the Low Voltage lights. And the solar lights need replacing about every two years as they will stop recharging the battery at the start of the third year, even if you put in a new battery.
The trade off is they are cheap. They cost about $ 4 each on sale at Harbor Freight.com
