Solar Power: If Goku And Superman Were To Have To Fight For Some Reason, Who Do You Think Would Win, And Why? (6/1/2012)

Looking at the facts (based on examples given):
Son Goku/Kakorat
In his natural state is already equivelant to that of superman’s highly dense body, speed and strength. He also possesses the ability to fight skillfully and has mastered life energy enabling him to use it for energy wave attacks (Kamehame Wave, etc.). Then his capability to transform into a supersaiyan which takes him to an atomic level of energy and power…furthermore, he can transform into a super saiyan 4 that is about equivelant to that of nuclear power. Let us be reminded that he can also destroy any planet with the simple pointing of his finger and some quick generation of energy.

Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent
His powers are restricted to that of the yellow sun, which gives him his invincible body by increasing its density and super strength (which has not been fully tested or shown), nor has his full speed capacity been revealed either. His skill of flight, eye beams, and all his visual skills (x-ray, infra-red, telescopic vision, etc) are his natural psychic gifts developed over time. His high pressure breath and freezing breath are merely expressions of his great strength and some mental direction. His weaknesses are that of Green Kryptonite, magic and the absence of a yellow sun. If he is on another planet outside our solar system with a different sun for example, he would be like any ordinary human…and we all seen how he handles that in the old superman movies with Christopher Reeves and the new Superman Returns move when on the island of Green Kryptonite tainted Kryptonian crystals.

Comparatives
They both can fly, are super strong, can travel at blinding speeds, have seemingly indistructible bodies and possess psychic powers.

Differences
Goku is Goku no matter where in the universe he is and is only slightly effected by gravity. He can attack with life energy (magic) and transform if more power and strength are needed. His only weakness is that of facing someone with more power and strength than himself, and not being able to breath without air. Superman however, is only superman in our solar system or any other with a yellow sun, he cannot fight in hand-to-hand combat for anything and cannot project life energy to attack, thereby making him completely vulnerable to any attack on him using such energy. One thing not made clear is, can superman breathe outside our ozone layer?

I personally believe Goku, or any saiyan for that matter, would hand superman’s @$ $ back to him. In this case, Piccolo (after fusing with Nails and Kame) would also achieve the same results. Tien, Yamcha and Krillin may put up a good fight, but will eventually lose.

What do you think, and why?
Alyssa 21: Lets not forget that Superman does in fact have a limit. He was never put to the test until he faced Doomsday…even the 3 criminals from his home planet (Zod and his Soldiers) shown his limits. He had to retreat due to being physically and mentally exhausted. So yes he has the roughly the same limits as that of Goku.
Enigma: I am only familiar with Futuristic Superman, where his psychic powers are greater as is his strength and speed. Not too familiar with any other version however…please explain. It can easily be said about Goku. In Dragonball AF he is said to reach SS5 and beyond so the comparitives are roughly the same on both sides. Even their slow aging process is about the same; as Alyssa 21 stated for superman is the same for goku. The real diffrences are that of the level of fighting skill, the use of energy attacks and preservation of power anywhere in the universe. As for the use of his hurricane breath, Goku has stood against high wind blasts before which included the initial hit of an energy attack, thereby negating any attempt to use his hurricane breath against him. As for the Freeaing breath, we seen Goku overcome this technique in Dragonball GT by raising his energy level to melt it away.
Enigma: I wish you left your old answer up and just added onto to it, but oh well. Pushing and using weight for power are totally separate. Pushing involves the use of the whole body and using weight on each individual limb uses only that limb (for the most part). So by calculating 40(4) = 160 tons in all. Since he is using it for power, it is safe to say he is using about 34% of his full strength. So 160/0.34 = 470.59 tons, just for moving the body and not even his full display of bodily strength. So 470.59(3) = 1,411.80 tons or possibly 470.59(4) = 1,882.35 tons…at super saiyan. Now lets look at the calculations if transformed…it gets multiplied by 10 when in SS2 = 4,705.90 tons. Then if multiplied by any levels higher would be pretty up there. I personally do not understand by how much exactly so will not try.
My previous calculations are incorrect as goku was given 10 tons on each limb by South Kai, totally 40 tons in all.

Enigma: That superman is obviously a futuristic superman. There is great mystery to Goku’s full potential since he was wished back to that of a kid and then later travelled into the realm of the Dragon Shenron (restored). I have no idea why you are taking this so personal. This is merely a simple debate of opinions and limited and exaggerated facts given by their creators. I do not understand why you are taking it as an insult.
Here are some basic estimated power boosts for the saiyans:
Oozaru = x10
SSJ = x50
SSJ2 = x100
SSJ3 = x200
Golden Oozaru = x500
SSJ4 = x1,000
Kai Fusion = x3 (with combined powers of the two fusing)
Fusion Dance = x2 (the combined powers of the two fusing)
7 Dragon ball Absorption = x6,000 (seen by goku at the end of DBGT)
