If everyone put solar panels on their roofs they would have to remove all the trees near their homes that would shade those panels for the panels to work at maximum efficiency.

they wouldn’t have to remove trees as the biggest percentage of houses don’t have trees creating shadows on the roofs. we need both trees and solar panels but i fear that the economic climate will slow down the development of renewable energy networks through out the uk.
I don’t think that you need any thing other than your attitude and ethic to control global warming. Its all about environmental ethics that you need to control global warming otherwise none of these “methods” are going to work.!!!
Nothing other than reducing our world population through a human worldwide reduction of birth measures aimed at reducing the population to a more sustainable number will ever put a dent to the global warming crisis.
There is no abortion or the killing of the living involved but merely a cessation of birth programs legislated and made into law so that couples cannot have more than 2 children.
The law must be steadfast and one that must be enforced so that we can reduce the world population number to a more sustainable figure.
No amount of alternative energy generating devices will solve this global warming and climate change problems without addressing the overpopulation issues

EDIT: How would we enforce it, well don’t worry, time and external circumstances will force it on us eventually as our corrupt political leaders only make political minded decisions and not wise moral decisions, they will leave it as late as the circumstances requires until they can no longer ignore it and then and only then will they start to implement such policies as worldwide reduction of birth programs.
But seriously why be so stupid and why give into the habit of leaving everything until its too late when we know the inevitable consequences will be dire for everybody.
Don’t these people have children and family.
Even for their own selfish interests, they should legislate this right now and curb the excess population number through a birth reduction measures.

Solar panels will work in places where there is not enough water for trees. Panels are generally more efficient, but cannot self-reproduce.

If you cut down a tree to put up solar panels, you’re not helping.
GLOBAL WARMING IF THE WORKD WORKS AS A TEAM
Actually, thermal solar (that is, using solar heat to power a standard steam generator) tends to be more efficient/effective than solar panels. At least at present, photovoltaics aren’t terribly efficient.
And, in many places where solar power would be most efficient/effective, like Arizona, homeowners are less likely to have trees capable of substantially shading their roofs, as most trees don’t grow terribly tall in most deserts.
