Solar Lights: Astronomy Question. Can Any Astronomers Out There Shed Some Light? (5/27/2011)

I am trying to figure out the average luminosity of this star compared to the luminosity of the sun? At the day which the cepheid variable star is observed its luminosity is “1,500″ Solar Units.

1.5 solar units would be 1 & 1/2 times the luminosity of the sun.
