how many people have solar powered lights at home.indoor use ones. with panels hardwired or not. ?
how many people here think we should invest more in that for ourselves, and do away with electricity bills?
just wondering if people actually considered the idea or actually went and did it,and saved a ton of money and that now they do not have to worry about a missed bill, and they have thier own back up emergency lighting..makes sense?
ok, i am even talking just saving Some money on electricity to cut costs as well.
1 room with it..or the whole house.
and i havent thought of back up heat, but they do have some pretty neat solar appliances as well..with no need to plug in..its amazing what we have at hand,to help,..and many dont take advantage of the free power. if no sun- they have battery storage, for that.depends what you buy.

I have a few outdoors but none indoors..
I’ve got solar, but I still have to pay an electric bill. My panels will be paid off by the savings after 18 years. At that point their output efficiency should be at 50% if their effectiveness continues their present decline. They are nice in daytime power outages, though…
I have several solar powered lights at home (outdoor ones) but I don’t have any indoor ones. I think it’s a great idea though. Any little thing that helps to save environment will pay off in the long run.
For most people, it’ll be a long, long, long time before they break even or make money off their solar panels.
I just purchased a building and plan to buy Solar powered panels. I think it is a very good idea.
lets see you get rid of Electric companies. How will your lights work at night? OH, you have batteries, oh, and who takes care of those batteries and buys them? OH, what happens when the sun doesn’t shine for 3 days? OH, more batteries and a bigger set of panels to charge them. OH, now after spending $ 100,000 on a system that will fail at the same rate as a Power company, you are saving $ 1000 per year, oH, that’s nice.
Never will a complete system make sense. the only ones that make sense are people that have chosen to be at RISK (you understand risk don’t you) of losing power and not being able to communicate, be able to not run their O2 generator that keeps them alive, be susceptible to people that take advantage of darkness to rob and kill.
My uncle, electrician, wired green power sockets into 4 rooms. Did it for free. Big help! The green sockets were off the power grid and connected to my home built solar panels.
I covered the whole southern roof. Not the prettiest things but they kick the juice. Thats all I care about.
This where I got the plans. Big help.
