Trust me – the cost of making the commercial is trivial.
More important is how much the TV station will charge you to show the commercial.
It’s cheap – at 3 am.
It’s expensive at 4 pm (when your target audience are home from school)
The price is different for the same number of showings on a small local channel vs the ABC, CBS, NBC station. The station that wins the ratings race gets to charge the most.
Just get a camcorder (might want to call a rental center to inquire about renting one) and plan on using ‘employees’ to make the commercial so you dont have to pay actors wages.
You might also:
- Inquire about a newspaper ad
- Call a local Radio Station about radio ads
- Call your local TV station about running your commercial
This will be a huge education in itself. Advertising agencies exist to do this for companies because it’s so complex.
