Frank N July 10, 2012 at 5:33 pm: Only in geologically active regions like Iceland and the western US, where it’s reasonably near earth’s surface. Some have proposed going deeper in other areas. Technically it’s not a renewable resource, though it could last another million years or so. The sun has a much longer expected lifetime, in the billions of years.
