The physics of 9/11 — including how fast and symmetrically one of the World Trade Center buildings fell — prove that official explanations of the collapses are wrong, says a Brigham Young University physics professor.
In fact, it’s likely that there were “pre-positioned explosives” in all three buildings at ground zero, says Steven E. Jones.
In a paper posted online Tuesday and accepted for peer-reviewed publication next year, Jones adds his voice to those of previous skeptics, including the authors of the Web site www.wtc7.net, whose research Jones quotes. Jones’ article can be found here.
Jones, who conducts research in fusion and solar energy at BYU, is calling for an independent, international scientific investigation “guided not by politicized notions and constraints but rather by observations and calculations.
“It is quite plausible that explosives were pre-planted in all three buildings and set off after the two plane crashes — which were actually a diversion tactic,” he writes. “Muslims are (probably) not to blame for bringing down the WTC buildings after all,” Jones writes.

omg. You know, if a liberal were president, you would have NO problem believing that the towers fell due to terrorist attacks. Sure, you’ll deny it–everyone who believes this will–but this is only because you hate Bush. The gov did NOT blow up the towers. I’m no fan of Bush, but I at least have enough sense that I know what truly happened that day. I wish Americans would have more faith in their country than this. This is a disgrace.

Yes it is possible that explosives were planted. But also remember that buildings such as this are usually built by the lowest bidder who may use a lot of sand in the concrete. Remember most bridges are built by the lowest bidder, when you are sitting on one, the water is high and you have to wait for a train to pass.

Even if it were true that explosives were planted (which it is not) how can he jump to the conclusion that Muslims had nothing to do with 9/11 when virtually every fact we know including confession points to them. Since Jones’ paper has not been published in a scientific journal, there are some academicians, including some from Jones’ own university, who question whether the article has been properly vetted by other experts in the field.[5] Some of Jones’ colleagues disagree with his theory regarding the collapse of the towers. The BYU physics department has issued a statement: “The university is aware that Professor Steven Jones’s hypotheses and interpretations of evidence regarding the collapse of World Trade Center buildings are being questioned by a number of scholars and practitioners, including many of BYU’s own faculty. Professor Jones’ department and college administrators are not convinced that his analyses and hypotheses have been submitted to relevant scientific venues that would ensure rigorous technical peer review.” The Fulton College of Engineering and Technology department has also added, “The structural engineering faculty in the Fulton College of Engineering and Technology do not support the hypotheses of Professor Jones.”.[6]
D. Allan Firmage, Professor Emeritus, Civil Engineering, Brigham Young University[7] responded to an article from the Provo Daily Herald which detailed a presentation that Steven Jones had recently given, and remarked that after reading reports from FEMA, the American Society of Civil Engineers and from several other professional engineering organizations, as well as the Steven Jones report, that, “I find Professor Jones’ thesis that planted explosives (rather than fire from the planes) caused the collapse of the Towers, very unreliable.” Dr. Firmage also stated that, “Before one (especially students) supports such a conspiracy theory, they should investigate all details of the theory. To me a practicing structural engineer of 57 continuous years (1941-1998), Professor Jones’ presentations are very disturbing.”.[8]

Jones is Co-Chair of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, an organization currently petitioning Congress for the release of evidence, including almost 14,000 pictures and videos held by NIST of the World Trade Center site on the day of the attacks. Jones is hoping for the release of this evidence for his controlled demolition hypothesis paper.[citation needed]
In June 2006, Jones appeared at the 9/11 + The Neo-Con Agenda Symposium in Los Angeles, California,[9] organized by Alex Jones. [10] At the conference, Steven Jones delivered a speech regarding the existence of Thermate-TH3 in the debris of the towers.[11]
Jones does not identify himself as either a Democrat or Republican, but does “support the Constitution” Jones has been described as “a devout Mormon and, until recently, a faithful supporter of George W. Bush”.[citation needed]
Jones is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to his research in scientific areas, he has also published papers on archeological clues supporting the LDS belief that Jesus Christ visited Latin America after his resurrection. Why would there be preplanted explosives in these several buildings? To what end? Who would have planted these explosives under the scrutiny of the entire world media who were filming everything by that point? How does a Physics professor in Utah know more about what brought the buildings down than the professional investigators who thoroughly checked everything out firsthand?
I think that this guy wants some publicity!! The towers fell because of the heat that jet fuel burns at is so high that it melted the steel and course it to implode. Bld 7 is already rebuilt so how can they find explosives in something that doesn’t exist anymore except as garbage. This nonsense is getting to be more than annoying.
