Solar Energy: I Have A Very Scientific Question, And I Need A Scientific Answer.? (7/29/2012)

in Solar Energy

Okay, well today in my science class we were discussing kinetic energy, potential energy, gravitational potential energy, and forms of power such as nuclear, chemical, and electrical. It got me wondering: could humans one day harness the power of the sun’s solar storms and use it to our advantage in a form of energy. Of course I mean theoretically speaking.

Yes of course. Practically speaking, the technology is available to harness solar winds (electromagnetic erruptions) now !! They can propell spacecraft and satelites on to Saturn and Jupiter….

Potentially we could. The issue is that they are not consistent and would be an unreliable form of energy. We set up wind turbines where it is always windy, not where there are storms, because it is relatively reliable.
