Solar Producer: Is This An Excellent Gaming Rig? (8/7/2012)

in Solar Producer

Ok so these are the specs im looking at within my budget:

CoolerMaster HAF 932 Advanced Full Tower Gaming Case

[6-Port] NZXT Internal USB Expansion System + Bluetooth & Wireless N Modules

Asetek 550LC Liquid CPU Cooling System (Intel)
ARC Dual Silent High Perfornamce Fan Upgrade (Push-Pull Airflow)

16 GB [2 GB X8] DDR3-1866 Memory Module Corsair or Major Brand

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 – 3GB: (single since people say single monitor gaming w/ dual cards are overkill for games, can always SLI later if needed).
(Core Clock797 MHz
Shader Clock 1594 MHz
Memory Clock4050 MHz (2 x 2025))
OR ?
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 – 3GB: (single since people say that single monitor gaming w/ dual cards are overkill for games, can always SLI later if needed).
(Core Clock607 MHz x 2
Shader Clock 1214 MHz
Memory Clock3414 MHz)

[3-Way SLI] ASUS P9X79 Deluxe — 2x Gb LAN, 4x PCI-E x16, 4x SATA 6Gb/s, 4x USB 3.0, On-Board Bluetooth (i want a motherboard i can connect anything to for the next 5-10 years IE wont get outdated when new stuff comes out and i want to connect it.)

120 GB Kingston HyperX SSD x2 Raid 0 (high performance)

[12X Blu-Ray] LG BLU-RAY Reader, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive (will this play CDs also or will i need a seperate optical drive for that?)

Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series (im thinking of buying my own one from Newegg since i need a one with a MIDI input with amazing latency for guitar/keyboard recording, which are both midi. I believe this one is used for gaming only?)

Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card

Windows 7 Home Premium

22″ LED 1920×1080 — ASUS VS228H-P (21.5 viewable)

Total: $ 4266-$ 640 (extra things that I need)
Grand Total: $ 3626

I find this to be a great deal considering I could build one my self for maybe $ 200 less but not have the quality that i would have when i buy it from an actual manufacture. If anyone wants to take a look at this page http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Intel_X79_Core_i7_Configurator so you can tell me what I could add or take away to improve my system.

My max budget for the PC alone+monitor is $ 3700 (without the $ 640 stuff that i need. Which will be a $ 4360 max grand total budget).

I hope people will leave good and helpful feedback as im willing to buy a computer soon!

Also feel free to send me a list of newegg parts that would be better than this setup since its not ideal for me to put them together but i wouldnt mind if the system was far superior.

MAIN USAGE: Super fast multitasking; studio quality, MIDI and perhaps 1/4″ plug input, recording; and gaming on ULTRA settings for most nowdays games: skyrim, just cause 2,MW2,BF3,crysis 2,etc. (nothing too graphic intensive just some RPGs and lots of FPSers. Framepersecond of 60+ is a must even on ULTRA settings).

Thanks guys icon smile Is this an excellent gaming rig?
OMG guys sorry forgot to add the 3930k CPU to my system this is included in the price tag BTW. Haha ok glad i cleared that up.

I would go with the 590 gtx definitely if it was an option, but with either of those cards and with that build, you should be able to play every one of those games at over 60 fps without a hiccup. That is a very good machine. I wish I could afford one!

Seems a little overkill to me for what you want to do haha
I would lose the liquid cooling and instead invest in a bigger monitor+CPU cooler. Unless of course your computer has to be silent. Speaking of, what cpu are you buying?

I can play skyrim and crysis 2 maxed out on my 900 dollar computer, I wouldn’t really recommend spending three/four times more for just a little more performance. But if you have the money I guess go for it :p
