There is no simple answer. When the wind is calm they may only produce 0.5 Kw. How much energy storage, if any, would you provide? How windy is the site? Would the occupants be willing to modify their schedules to make use of energy when available? An electric stove with oven can use 6 Kilowatts or more.
Approximately 1.
A household is generally considered as about 3 kilowatts.
BUT, do realize, wind turbines operate at the whim of the wind. The power ratings are at standard test conditions, and need to be modified to match the site’s expected annual windspeed distribution.
I wish it was a simple thing, but consider what happens when the wind drops – do you just sit there with no TV, no power and no light?
no – you have to store spare power generated when demand is low, and the wind is high, so that means a monster battery or simliar. This also means an efficient and intelligent control system, to draw stored battery power as needed, and an inverter to turn it back into AC for all your household appliances.
For reliable wind generated power, you may also need more than one windmill, spread over a wide area, in case the wind shifts or drops. Imagine the controller(s) to govern that lot!
