open4energy has published a list of home energy scams to help energy conscientious home owners avoid being taken advantage of. They range from down loadable plans to build a magnetic generator, a solar panel or a windmill, to energy saving plug in gadgets, to full blown sales promotions for kvar power factor correction units which have negligible savings capabilities for even the biggest homes.
Each one we find is another community we can protect!

i looked, and i don’t see the list.
based on what i read around here, HHO is probably the biggest scam.
there are just too many people willing to deny established science because it conflicts with what they really want to be true.
okay, here’s the link.

and, just counting, it would seem that power factor “Fixers” are surging ahead of HHO.

The biggest scam is the use of the word green. Even a air filter changed the color of the filter to green and put the word green on the product. The materials that were used were the same as the blue filter.
This goes on and on.
I love the term “green builders” or “green homes” …. I have been using energy star products for over the last 20 year. And most products on the market have been labeled this that long if not longer. The things that really mater in the construction of the home are still anti green or anti energy efficient. Think about ceiling height and excessive amounts of glazing. Extravagant wall and roof lines that eat up twice the amount of lumber.
These are what some builders are promoting as “Green”.
I believe it is “business as usual”. If you kn ow what I mean.
and that is the biggest scam
